Chapter 2012
Chapter 2012: 582 Artificial Legend Plan_4
Standing at the edge of the hall are rows of round stone columns.
There are no railings outside the columns, and quite a few gaps along the edge, meaning any slight carelessness could lead to a fall.
Despite being an open space,
No gusts of wind pour in from the tower top, where the airflow is unusually gentle, almost with no fluctuations.
Matthew sensed the aroma of a ritual site.
âTo overlay and establish her own ritual site within the Allianceâs venue, Dania is truly one of the top spellcasters.â
And among the surrounding circle of columns,
Stand towering, gigantic transparent glass containers.
Filled with colorful liquids, quite a portion of the liquid seems to possess a luminous, sparkling quality that dazzles the eyes in a brilliant display.
And right in the center of all the glass containers, there is a placid, undisturbed pool.
In the pool, dense negative energy rolls to the extreme.
Matthew couldnât see how deep the pool was.
He could only sense the breath named Death constantly rising within the pool.
âThis is a very standard Undead Transformation Pool.â
His eyes brightened.
Such a rich undead energy.
Any living creature thrown in would turn into a necromancer within seconds.
Even legendary creatures might not last more than a few minutes!
âDaniaâs not in the pool.â
âSheâs a necromancer, not a Lich.â
Matthew scrutinized his surroundings in puzzlement.
The hall only has these things.
Yet he couldnât see any trace of Dania.
Where could she hide?
Matthewâs gaze suddenly shifted to the nearest green glass jar.
He stepped forward.
The surface of the glass jar immediately reflected a silhouette.
That was Matthewâs reflection.
But in the next second,
A gaunt, pale face suddenly emerged from the reflection!
Clinking sounds!
A faint murmuring voice came:
âIâm here.â
The pale face almost entirely pressed against the surface of the glass jar.
Soon,
Matthewâs pupils reflected an entirely naked maiden, only a small portion of her vital parts hidden within the turbid liquid.
The maidenâs features were very young, looking only about twelve or thirteen years old.
Her eyes were tightly shut.
Yet her voice steadily came from within the glass jar:
âAre you Matthew?â
âIs my instigated defection still useful to you?â
Matthew slightly bowed his head:
âVery useful.â
In the maidenâs voice, there was a trace of satisfaction:
âUseful is good.â
âHa.â
âThings from other people always seem to be the bestâŠâ
Matthew gazed upon the tightly shut-eyed, corpse-like Dania:
âYour state, SeniorâŠâ
Dania indifferently replied:
âI have achieved immortality, no matter how I fiddle with it, itâs eternal life, the flesh is merely a shell to me, life and death are meaningless.â
âI only care about things beyond immortality.â
âPrecisely because of this, I have no interest in the lust-driven God of Luck, nor did I entertain those scheming brats of Baiyan City.â
âI chose to see you not because of some exceptional status you possess, nor because you once fortuitously obtained the Gift of Nature I left behind, but because you carry qualities that transcend immortality!â
Matthew suddenly took half a step back.
Daniaâs voice immediately came from another glass jar behind him:
âDonât be afraid!â
âI will not harm you.â
âI only hope you can do me a favor.â
âDuring my long imprisonment, I researched a forbidden project known as the âArtificial Legend Projectâ!â
Artificial legend?
Matthewâs pupils shrank, feeling somewhat unclear but aware.
âYes, yes! You heard right, itâs an artificial legend!â
Daniaâs tone grew increasingly excited:
âThe Legendary Path has always been regarded as the great path of transcending Self, transforming and elevating for sentient beings.â
âThere are many powerful entities, spending their entire lives in pursuit of their Legendary Path, yet no matter how much effort is expended, they still linger outside the gates of legend.â
âWhat a tragic affair this is!â
âSo I had the thought, if I could leverage my mastery in the domain to develop a technique capable of mass-producing legendary creatures, wouldnât it be wonderful!â
âOf course, the motive for my research wasnât sympathy or compassion, but to mock them.â
âImagine, those diligent practitioners, those who spend a lifetime unable to become legends, all their lifeâs efforts pale in comparison to a Lucky transformed by me, how laughably absurd that scenario would be?â
âNow consider this, if half the world could become legendary creatures, how vibrant would Aindor become?â
âAt least, legend shouldnât be the privilege of a few, but should be shared by all!â
Dania became more fervent as she spoke.
Matthew even suspected he heard a fleeting sound of saliva.
He couldnât help but question Daniaâs mental state.
So he considered his phrasing:
âLetâs not talk about how mass manufacturing legends would change the world⊠How exactly is this path achieved?â
Dania arrogantly declared:
âItâs simple.â
âUndergo my undead transformation, inject a trace of Feathered Serpent Godâs bloodline.â
âYou might not know, during ancient times, the Multiverse housed many extraordinary beings born inherent legends, now only surviving as Winged Dragons, yet back in that era phoenixes, dragons, kirins, and feathered serpents held such characteristics.â
âBefore being confined, I found samples of the Feathered Serpent God and extracted the divine quality and bloodline within.â
âTo share a secret with you, feathered serpents have an odd characteristicâ
As long as one feathered serpent among a group becomes a legend, the others will share its legendary template and Legendary Power!
And if that feathered serpent becomes a divine being.
The other feathered serpents will enjoy the corresponding Divine Domain and divine power.
This is the secret behind Feathered Serpent Godâs dominance over the southern continent in ancient times!
As long as they mutually revered within the clan, they could artificially pile up a divine being.
Divine beings can achieve this.
Legend is even simpler!â
âNowadays, my artificial legend project has reached the most critical stage!â
âIâve completed the most thorough transformation of my body towards that of the ancient Feathered Serpent God.â
âIâve prepared a group of sentient beings willing to become my legendary clan.â
âThe only thing Iâm missing now is that rare mysterious substance those feathered serpents collectively inhaled in their cavern retreats.â
âThey are the key to the Artificial Legend Project!â
âI sensed those substances on you!â
âCould you lend me a little bit of them?â
âJust a tiny bit, and I can test if my plan can succeedâŠâ
Daniaâs voice is filled with longing:
âJust a little.â
âIf you satisfy me, I can help you eliminate everyone else in the tower, I promise to assist you against Pale King Dickens!â
Matthew did not immediately answer upon hearing this.
Instead, he posed a question concerning a long-standing curiosity:
âSpeaking of Mr. Dickens.â
âWhy is it that, having been imprisoned the same duration, he appears so repressed and angry, yet your emotions seem quite stable?â
âŠ
